Cognizant Off-Campus Recruitment 2023-Job Description
As a Jr. Java Software Developer at Cognizant, you will play a crucial role in software development and project management. Your responsibilities will include:
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate with business users to resolve queries, obtain clarifications, and provide updates. Set up business bridge calls for critical incidents/outages and follow up with internal and external stakeholders.
- Service Management: Take responsibility for the project tasks assigned, initiate escalation procedures for incidents, and manage the task queue effectively.
- Service Tracking: Ensure that assigned tasks are completed within set targets. Conduct peer reviews to maintain deliverable quality.
- Service Execution: Analyze data, perform root cause analysis for any missed targets, and report findings to the Service Manager. Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Knowledge Management: Ensure complete knowledge transfer to support teams before any production release.
- Requirements Gathering: Participate in requirement gathering sessions, gather and elicit requirements using agile frameworks/tools/techniques.
- Resource/Efforts Estimation and Monitoring: Understand task-level estimation and measure actual effort against estimated effort. Monitor task progress reporting.
- Design & Analysis: Create high-level and detailed design documents with support from architects. Review all deliverables created by developers.
- Coding: Develop code across various tiers, follow coding standards, guidelines, and best practices. Seek review from peers and technical leads.
- Defect Management: Participate in defect triage meetings, conduct RCA for defects, and rework on code based on review comments and defects raised in testing.
- User Story/Epic Grooming & Sizing: Understand user story dependencies, participate in requirement analysis discussions, and size user stories.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation within the code and update project-specific documentation.
